The Center for Developmental Disabilities is committed to helping children and adults with differing abilities achieve their dreams by overcoming barriers to living, working, learning and enjoying recreational opportunities in the community of their choice.

Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI) has been assisting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families on Long Island for almost 60 years. During that time, we have evolved and grown, serving larger numbers of people and expanding the types of supports and services we provide.

Programs at DDI begin with infancy and continue through the school years and adulthood. While DDI’s children and adults display a range of disabilities, the Institute is most renowned for its work with autism.

Community Partners. Today, DDI is a dynamic, non-profit, multi-site agency, each day serving hundreds of children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities, providing educational, residential, habilitative, vocational, transportation, and service coordination support to the Long Island community.
